OUR PURPOSE

OUR PURPOSE

Each edition of Montana Advance Sheets is a cross between a law journal and a digest, but with the original full text of the ruling. The full ruling allows the reader to:

  • see what a particular trial judge may do in a similar case
  • learn what is happening in Montana in a field of law
  • see what was won or lost in a particular case
  • find out how to prepare components for a particular type of order or judgment
  • increase interaction among lawyers and judges on issues being decided elsewhere in the state

WHAT WE NEED

We rely on Montana judges and attorneys to identify rulings for publication.  If you have or know of information about rulings in a case, please send your information to us.  Our email address is:  info@montanaadvancesheets.com

OUR OUTREACH

We regularly seek case information from Montana attorneys, through emails that we send separately from our weekly product mailing.  Your help in responding is much appreciated.

CHARACTERISTICS

We look for informative, logically discussed rulings containing context for the reader and a clear application of the law to the facts.

WHAT YOU GET

35-70 pages of recent Montana court rulings in each issue:  MSC rulings of the week, recent USDC and Bankruptcy Court rulings; rulings supplied to us from tribal and local courts.

WE DO NOT PUBLISH

Comments of court and counsel or other commenters; rulings under seal; rulings that if published could, in our view, significantly or unnecessarily multiply harm to one or more parties if widely distributed; rulings containing information prohibited by law from publication.
